Founder’s Story
Growing up as the daughter of an Army officer, I had the privilege of traveling across India. From vibrant villages to bustling small towns, I was constantly inspired by the explosion of colors, patterns, and prints woven into every aspect of life—on canvas, sarees, bedsheets, and even curtains. Yet, one thing always felt missing: swimwear that celebrated this rich Indian aesthetic.
As a climate activist with a background in India’s most prestigious media houses, I realized that tree-hugging and protests alone wouldn’t make the impact I dreamed of. In 2022, I took the plunge and founded Goya Swim Co.—India’s first 100% certified sustainable swimwear brand.
Here’s the deal: every swimsuit we make clears 29 plastic bottles from the ocean, thanks to a game-changing fabric called REPREVE®. So, when you wear Goya, you’re not just looking amazing—you’re giving the planet a little breather. Small steps, big impact.
Sustainability Meets Style
At Goya, we’re redefining swimwear for Indian women by combining inclusivity, sustainability, and bold design. Indian women come in all shapes, sizes, and skin tones, and our swimwear celebrates them all. We create designs that flatter every body type, ensuring that sizes S to 2XL get the same stylish cuts and fits. And because Indian swimwear tends to lean conservative, we intentionally bring modern, racy styles to the forefront—think high-thigh cuts for longer legs and chic silhouettes that make a statement.
From Trash to Treasure
We use REPREVE®—the world’s best recycled fabric, certified by OEKO-TEX (basically the Michelin Guide of fabric ratings). Here’s how it works:
- Plastic bottles and industrial waste are collected.
- That waste is transformed into resin, spun into fibers, and turned into high-performance fabric.
- That fabric becomes your go-to swimsuit.
