OUR STORY

THE EVOLUTION OF GOYA SWIM CO.

FOUNDER STORY

Goya Swim Co. was born with one idea in mind: to clean up our oceans.Fashion is ranked as the second-most polluting industry in the world, so our activist-founder, Riya Majumdar, knew that she had to do something in order to reverse the damage it was doing on our environment. By combining these two passions, she was able to create a line of sustainable swimwear that not just looks great, but uses a cutting edge technology (REPREVE®), with each piece pulling out about 29 plastic bottles directly from the ocean. So you won't be just wearing a fashion statement, you'll be saving the planet at the same time.

OUR FABRICS

We exclusively craft with REPREVE®, global leaders in recycled performance fibers. Plastic bottles & post industrial waste is collected worldwide. Waste flake is melted and reformulated into high quality REPREVE® resin. Resin is melted into liquid polymer and extruded to form fiber. From there, it is spun and air-jet textured into yarn. Yesterday's recycled plastic bottle becomes today’s Goya swimsuit.

OUR FACTORY

We are proud to know firsthand that our manufacturing teams maintain the highest standards of workplace ethics and environmental responsibility. We work, whenever possible, with vertically integrated facilities where everything from dyeing to knitting is done in one location, further reducing our products’ carbon footprint. We manufacture out of a Global Recycling Standard 4.0 factory.
